Instructions for abstract submission

The abstract submission deadline is January 15th 2019. 

Notification of acceptance will be sent by the January 22nd 2019.


Abstracts should be maximum 300 words.

Please submit the abstract via email to the organising committee in the .doc or .pdf file format.


Abstracts submission are not mandatory, as abstracts will serve to evaluate if the proposed paper fits the conference scope. The abstract acceptance does not guarantee the full paper acceptance.

Instructions for paper submission

  • The full paper are limited to a minimum of three (3) and a maximum of six (6) pages. Additional pages per paper above the six (6) page limit will be charged at a rate of 4 € + VAT per page.

  • Authors are required to submit a PDF as well a source file copy of his/her paper. Doc/docx/latex are the only acceptable formats of source files. Other formats including ‘docm’ will NOT be used.

Step-by-step instructions for paper submission

  • Log in (on the top right side of page), then use Author log in. Register a new account only if you do not already have one.

  • In the Author Main Menu, Click Submit new manuscript

Sections of the submission process:

Article Type Selection: Choose SI: CIRP Design 2019

Attach files: Upload the Abstract in .doc or .pdf file format. 
                     Upload the Manuscript in .doc or .docx format (.dotm will not                           be accepted) and the Manuscript in PDF in .pdf

General Information: For Section/Category choose SI: CIRP DESIGN 2019

Review Preferences: In Request Editor choose Cátia Alves or

                                    Carla Rocha as the Managing Guest Editor

Additional Information: Please respond to the presented                                                                          questions/statements

Manuscript Data: Follow instructions on the website to specify the title,                                      abstracts and authors.

Please note that both Abstract and Manuscript must be uploaded, by the publisher's requirement.

  • Build the PDF for your approval.

    The Author must View the Submission, agree to any terms specified, and Approve the Submission. Once the Author approves the submission, it will move to the ‘Submissions Being Processed’ folder in the ‘Author Main Menu’.
